As a composer,  I am constantly writing; sometimes I write on paper, sometimes at the computer, and much of the time, in my head.  Many of the things I write never get completed, but every composer must compose, almost daily.  Most of the music I complete is because it is music that will be played, either by someone's musical group, or by one of my groups.  There is a thrill when you hear your music realized by live musicians.  The thrill is even greater when they enjoy playing your music!

I do not write to sell a lot of music, or try to write arrangements of the the latest popular music because that is what kids like to play. This is the main reason I have not sought to have my music published by major publishers.  Also -I do not like to write music based on generic instrumentation for the pure purpose of selling a lot of copies.  Too many of the composers I know write arrangements or compositions that are edited to sell - and the end result is not the best they could have done.  Although that may make a lot of money for some, it is not what I want to do.  Perhaps someday I may publish more; however, I would rather publish my music myself and publish what I want, than to write what I do not want and publish a lot.

Over the course of the 800 plus works I have written, I have written jazz pieces, concert pieces, string pieces, church cantatas, brass ensemble pieces, percussion pieces, vocal pieces, ....and the list goes on.  I welcome the opportunity to write for a group that I have never before written.  I have been blessed to be able to write my first movie score, and I would also love to write a musical someday.  If you have an idea for one, and are good with lyrics - let's talk! 

I would love to hear from anyone looking to have a piece written for their group, or for themselves.  I also can create background orchestrations with sampled music for singers or instrumentalists who always wanted to be accompanied by a string orchestra, but never had the chance!!  Feel free to call me anytime!
